Société communale de chasse - Communal hunting association

The communal hunting association was formed in 1970.
Its aim is to bring together Sénéchas landowners and residents, as well as their families and guests, for hunting and regulating the district’s wild game.
About 50 members take out a hunting permit each year and in addition eight shareholders hunt with the large game team.

The large game team

A fine bag

The large game team hunts on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays as well as holiday days (equivalent of English Bank holidays).

About a dozen hunters participate in each beat, whatever the weather, rain, wind or cold.

Recently we have killed about 100 boar and 26 deer (according to the agreed hunting quota) each year.

Every year the club organizes a bingo event in February, and on the last Sunday but one in July, we have the "Fête des chasseurs" - the Hunters’ Fete - with a free open-air ball.

The dead boar is shaved,

then cut up

Any Sénéchas landowners or residents who wish to join the large game team are welcome.
