A ciel ouvert - Open skies

Whether one is just observing the sky at night or following the most recent discoveries of space exploration and astrophysics, astronomy can satisfy ones curiosity while always generating new questions.

To join an astronomy club is to share this passion in all its many facets. Shared knowledge and research enrich everyone's experience.

The aim of "A ciel ouvert" is to bring together all enthusiasts in the "Hautes Cévennes" area, beginners or more experienced, adults or young people, to enjoy observing the starry sky, to identify the individual stars and deepen our knowledge of the world which surrounds us.

The Moon - Clavius crater

The club meets all year round and arranges various events such as the special "Night of the stars" (la Nuit des Etoiles), and also works with schools.

You can also keep up with astronomy and "A ciel ouvert" by tuning in to Radio 16 (Bessèges local community radio - FM 99.2), "Appointment with Uranie" Mondays at l0am, Tuesdays 8am, Wednesdays 1pm and Fridays 6pm.
